In 2022, we established the Teaching Innovation Group (GID) ‘Aliméntate con ciencia e conciencia‘, at the University of Vigo. The group promotes dynamic, participatory, student-centred teaching in the field of food by regularly using different active methodologies and our own educational resources in subjects taught at undergraduate and master’s level.
The objectives pursued by this GID include:
Improve educational quality. We are exploring new active teaching methodologies and developing new resources (such as videos, infographics and podcasts) to promote more dynamic and participatory learning about food among students.
Promote motivation. We believe that implementing these new learning methods will motivate both students and teachers, particularly in subjects that are considered more arid.
Achieve a greater impact on learning. GID activities will impact both academic results (improved performance and success rates) and student satisfaction with the teaching and learning process.
Share teaching resources, best practices and experiences through outreach activities and publications of the obtained results.
Strengthen academic collaboration. We cultivate an environment that encourages the exchange of experiences and best practices among teachers from different disciplines, as well as from other teaching innovation groups.
Improve the professional development of group members. We encourage active participation in training and teaching innovation courses to help members adapt to new teaching methods.
Promote teaching innovation in the university environment.
